Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, the national training workshop on “The Role of Innovation and Advanced Technology in Agricultural Systems” was launched in cooperation with the Regional Center for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development in the Near East (CARDNE).
The workshop, which lasts for three days, was inaugurated by Dr. Alaa Azoz, Head of the Agricultural Extension Sector, Dr. Saad Mousa, Supervisor of Agricultural Foreign Relations and Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, and Dr. Muwafaq Al serhan, Director of the Regional Center for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development in the Near East (CARDNE).
The Head of the Agricultural Extension Sector emphasized the importance of this workshop, highlighting several key topics, including the role of innovation in the development of the agricultural sector, the role of databases in enhancing agricultural production, modern technologies in combating plant diseases, and the use of information and communication technology in developing the fisheries sector.
Dr. Muwafaq Al serhan pointed out the ongoing and continuous cooperation between the center and the Arab Republic of Egypt in numerous fields and activities. This cooperation includes the implementation of a series of workshops to train those interested in the agricultural field and related activities.
He added that the election of Dr. Alaa , Head of the Agricultural Extension Sector, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Regional Center for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development in the Near East during the 19th Board Meeting held earlier this year reflects the member states’ confidence in Egypt. It also highlights the pioneering and vital role of the Ministry of Agriculture in achieving development and focusing on rural Egypt.
